Mohamed Salah as King of Africa for the second year: African Player of the Year 2018
Egyptian player and star Mohamed Salah won the title of African Player of the Year for the second time in the African Confederation Cup on Tuesday in Dakar, capital of Senegal.
“I do not think I stand for the second year on this platform again,” Salah said after winning the award.
“I thank my family, my colleagues and everyone who stood with me, and I give this award to my country, Egypt.”
Salah beat fellow Senegalese player Sadio Mani and Arsenal striker Pierre Amerek Obamyang to become the fourth player to win twice after Senegal striker Haji Diouf, Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure.
Salah scored 32 goals in the English Premier League last season to win the Golden Boot award, winning the championship in May and the best player in the competition.

He also led Liverpool to the Champions League final last season after scoring 10 goals during the tournament but was injured in the first half before losing to Real Madrid 3-1.
